Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Each section includes a plain English explanation.

This Privacy Policy describes how Ruud Digital Solutions (org. nr. 932375311), operating Assembo ('we', 'us', or 'our'), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and services. The data controller is Ruud Digital Solutions, Botnafjellsvegen 47, 5353 Straume, Norway. By using Assembo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

By using Assembo, you agree to all these terms. We've tried to make this readable, but it's still a legal document. The right column is the 'what it actually means' version.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and name (if you provide it). We use OAuth providers (Google, GitHub) so we never see your password.
  • Usage data: We track how you use Assembo to improve the product. This includes pages visited, features used, and components installed.
  • Theme data: Your custom themes are stored so you can access them later. You can delete these anytime.
  • Payment information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your full card number.

What it means

We collect the basics to make the app work. Email for your account, usage stats to improve things, and your themes so they don't disappear. Stripe handles all the money stuff - we never touch your card details.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide and maintain Assembo's services
  • To process your transactions and manage your subscription
  • To send you important updates about your account or the service
  • To improve our product based on how people use it
  • To respond to your questions and support requests

What it means

We use your info to make Assembo work, take your money (with your permission obviously), and occasionally email you when something important happens. We also look at aggregate usage patterns to make the product better. That's it. No selling your data to advertisers or anything weird.

3. Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog for analytics and session replay. This helps us understand how people use Assembo and fix bugs. You can opt out of analytics entirely by declining cookies when prompted. We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them.

What it means

We use PostHog to see what's working and what's broken. If you click 'Deny' on the cookie banner, we won't track anything. Simple as that. The only cookies we'll still use are the ones that keep you logged in.

4. Data sharing

  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
  • We share data with service providers who help us run Assembo: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (emails), and PostHog (analytics).
  • We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

What it means

Your data isn't for sale. We only share it with the services that power Assembo, and only what they need to do their job. If the police come knocking with a warrant, we have to comply, but that's never happened and hopefully never will.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the EU. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

What it means

Your stuff lives on servers in Europe (hello GDPR compliance). Everything's encrypted. We do our best to keep it safe, but we're not going to pretend we're Fort Knox. No one is.

6. Your rights

  • Access: You can request a copy of your data anytime.
  • Correction: You can update your information in your account settings.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data.
  • Portability: You can export your themes in standard formats.
  • Opt-out: You can decline analytics cookies at any time.

What it means

It's your data. You can see it, fix it, delete it, or take it somewhere else. Just email us or use the settings page. We'll sort it out within 30 days (usually much faster).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our website. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

What it means

If we change something important, we'll let you know. We won't suddenly start selling your data and bury it in paragraph 47.
